The Eighth Wonder of the World
By: The happily in a relationship Bri :)
When the young lovers stop in the moment
Caught in each others gaze
There is fire that starts to burn from with in
And love starts making a case.
On their wedding day
When the world seems to stop spinning
As he gently lifts the veil
And they start a new beginning.
When a mother looks in the eyes of her child
Those first few seconds of existence
There is a new feeling set deep in her soul
Making all things make a little more sense.
The first day their little one
Take his first step
And the first word comes out
Adding more memories to the ones being kept.
When they send him off to school
They take that first minute of quite
To get caught in the guess
And know that love will never give up this fight.
Sitting on the front porch 70 years later
The little girl on his knees with her hair curled
He looks at the one who gave him such a wonderful life
And realizes Love is the eighth wonder of the world.
I always notice the old couples that sit together on the same side of the booth at the restaurant. Or the old man who still opens the door for his wife and she still sits in the middle of the truck. Those are the people you know married because they were in love. And that true love never dies. I love to see that sparkle still in their eyes so many years later. It just makes me happy :) I hope one day that i still hold that love when I am that old.
