Behind the scenes: A look into the past

      As a kid I was quick to notice that my grandpa is what you would call a pack rat. Growing up on the farm we had 7 barns full of anything and everything you could imagine and half the things you wouldn't even think of. I grew up to have the same personality. I have a big tote that I consider my "memory box." It is full of every memory I could jam pack into the box and still get the lid on. I love you sit on the floor and dump it out and just go through all the memories. There are notes from old high school flings and receipts from presents I bought people. There is even a zip lock baggy with hair from the first time I got my hair cut (weird I know, but I just cant get rid of anything!) I have every birthday card from the time I was in the 7th grade. All my old diaries are stuck in there. The time I won a trophy my my first book "How I Got My Dad' is there, next to all the posters from all the plays I have been in. Every doodle and sketch is sitting with the memorabilia from every high school filed trip. But favorite is not the notes or the pictures. What really looks down deep into all the feelings I have felt over the years is my poems.
     This isn't the best or even my favorite, but I ran across a note book filled with poetry. First I will share the quotes that are scattered on the cover. Favorite quoted can tell you a lot about a person. Especially about the time in their lives that they are going through. Here are my quotes from this time in my life: (I'm thinking its somewhere around my sophomore and junior year of high school.)
     -Why do we have two legs, two arms, and two eyes but only one heart. Because the other one is given to someone else for you to find.

     -If it hurts to look back and your scared to look forward just look beside you and I'll always be there.
     -Have you ever wondered if you fell in love with the wrong guy because you never gave the right guy a chance?
     -If it's meant to be it will always find a way.
     -Distance proves just how far love will go.
     -Love is like a pen whatever is written cannot be erased.
     -One kiss can make the world stop spinning.
     -Your lips hold the reigns to my heart.
     -It's better to have loved and lost then to live with a psyco the rest of your life -GMD

I can play with words 

I can even make them rhyme 

I can make nothing into something

Putting words to a mime 

I can say anything and make it seem real 

I can give purple to a tree

And orange to it's leaves

And with my words you'll believe 

I can forget what I was thinking 

And I can turn my words around
I can win an argument

A can give sound to my words
And make my voice
